Starting at $26/hr  Swing Shift (1PM – 9:30PM) 

Position Description:

Under direct supervision, the Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts; maintaining a clean and safe working environment; and fulfilling general Company needs that would require a forklift operator to be present, while meeting varying production goals. In addition to building orders and organizing/moving raw and packaging materials the incumbent ensures the packaging line is supplied with necessary materials for that day’s production run; and performs leaker pick-up and other housekeeping tasks as necessary.

Essential Duties to be performed accurately and routinely include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspects equipment before use daily and plugs in forklift at the end of each work shift
  • Prepares for the days shipping and receiving requirements
  • Loads and unloads trucks, trailers and other vehicles and completes required paperwork accurately
  • Shrink-wraps pallets, stacks and stores empty pallets and slip sheets
  • Moves palletized goods to various locations and warehouse storage
  • Builds orders and accurately completes required paperwork
  • Rotates and stacks products throughout the warehouse
  • Ensures packaging line is supplied with necessary materials for that day’s production run
  • Performs leaker pick-up and other housekeeping tasks as necessary
  • Moves, stores and organizes raw, packaging and point-of-sale materials
  • Picks and pulls point-of-sale orders
  • Relays necessary information at shift change-over to appropriate personnel
  • Executes daily tasks assigned by the Department Manager and/or Team Lead
  • Complies with all Safety Quality Food (SQF) System protocol as it applies to the employee’s specific job duties and the overall operations of the company
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and/or required

Minimum Qualifications – the ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) or more years of experience as a Material Handler/Forklift Operator in a warehouse environment with a clean safety record (beverage or beer industry operator experience preferred)
  • Forklift Certification
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Basic general math skills (add, subtract and multiply)

Working Conditions:

The following requirements are conditions of employment. Applicants must have the ability and willingness to meet these requirements at the time of employment application filing and maintain these requirements throughout employment.

  • Compliance to company’s current Covid-19 vaccination requirement, providing proof of vaccination annually. Wearing a properly fitted mask (defined by the CDC), which covers both the nose and mouth during the entire shift
  • Adapt to changes in brewing, packaging and production schedules and work various schedules, which may also include: additional shifts or hours, swing, on-call or night shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or overtime as operations dictate. Additionally, management reserves the right to temporarily or permanently revise working hours to meet the needs of the company
  • Safely work around and communicate in a hot, cold, wet, damp, slick, and loud indoor/outdoor production environment for extended periods of time
  • Safely handle and work around moving machinery, mechanical devices, chemicals, gasses, and hot liquids in high places and confined spaces
  • Follow SOP and policies throughout the brewery, work safely, effectively use checklists and job-aids, and keep working areas clean & tidy
  • Continuously lift to shoulder height and carry up to 75 lbs. with or without assistive devices and push or pull up to 200 lbs.
  • While unassisted: bend, sit, kneel and squat, balance, twist and turn, reach over one’s shoulders, walk and stand continuously for extended periods of time over uneven surfaces; walk up and down stairs; and ascend and descend ladders
  • Work effectively in a team environment and alone
  • Maintain personal sobriety. Employees are also prohibited from consuming unauthorized alcohol during working hours, including meal and break periods, and before or after working hours anywhere on the facility or while working off-site. Additionally, when tasting as it relates to the requirements of this job or the employee attends an event at the brewery or a brewery sponsored event, an employee must never surpass the legal alcohol consumption limit as defined by the state, nor be mentally or physically impaired
  • Behave in a supportive, professional and respectful way towards all staff, vendors, partners, clients, and visitors
  • Become trained and certified in first aid, confined space entry and fall protection
  • Safely operate company forklifts after provided training
  • Pass the Company’s background investigation, which includes, but is not limited to: employment history, criminal background investigation, DMV records and drug testing. Please note, drug testing will be conducted as a component of pre-employment screening and can be re-conducted due to management’s reasonable suspicion and/or immediately following an employee’s post worksite accident. Additionally, not all convictions/arrests will disqualify a candidate from employment. The information will be reviewed for job relatedness and other considerations.
