COMPENSATION: $20.00/hr.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 5:30AM-2:00PM (Must be open to working weekends)
This position requires a genuine interest in golf and a love for the outdoors with a passion for agronomy & attention to detail. The Greenskeeper will play an integral role in the success of the club. This position will be responsible for performing any combination of the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Perform mowing of rough and fairway areas according to designated cutting specifications, ensuring no damage is incurred to turf, flowers, trees, or shrubs.
- Utilize hand mowers, walk-behind power mowers, and/or Triplex equipment to cut turf on green and tee areas.
- Prepare new greens, grades, and clean traps by digging, raking, and repairing cart paths using shovels, rakes, picks, spades, and other necessary tools.
- Participate in the planting, trimming, and pruning of shrubs using trimmers, gas blowers, hedge trimmers, and other relevant equipment as necessary.
- Set up pins and tee markers for daily play and tournaments as directed by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
Maintain cleanliness and functionality of tools and machinery used for daily tasks. - Conduct renovation of worn and damaged turf as needed.
- Attend maintenance staff and safety meetings as required.
- Fulfill various duties assigned by Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent or Greenskeeper Foreman to ensure the smooth operation of the golf course maintenance activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior experience working as a greenskeeper or in a similar role on a golf course and/or country club
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires large physical demands.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; and use hand to handle and operate objects, tools or controls.
- Lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move more than 100 pounds.
- Occasionally required to sit; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl.
- Must be able to handle working in extreme weather conditions from cold, hot, and rain.
