Well-know company is in immediate need of an experienced Controller to join their team.


  • Month end tasks including but not limited to bank reconciliations, fixed asset depreciation, accruals.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare and oversee annual budget.
  • Assist with year-end preparation for outside accountants to do Review and Tax Return.
  • Assist with year-end retirement plan audit.
  • Provide information for annual insurance renewals and insurance audits, including but not limited to health and ancillary benefits, workers comp, and travel.
  • Review and manage the cash position.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Job Cost Reports.
  • Drive the Job Cost Projection process.
  • Assist with calculating Billing Rates and Job Cost Labor Rates.
  • Review Payroll.
  • Manage and reconcile Intercompany Transactions.
  • Explore the capabilities of Viewpoint (Vista) and help integrate existing accounting system into new accounting system.
  • Ensure timely filing of quarterly payroll tax returns and year-end W2s.
  • Provide information for and/or review of year-end 1099s.
  • Calculate quarterly travel premiums and submit for payroll processing.
  • Understand and help manage employee vacation and sick leave.
  • Become familiar with 401(k) and ESOP, and oversee the ongoing accounting of those, as well as the year-end census.
  • Collect and provide information for retirement plan audit, as well as Form 5500 filings for both retirement plan and insurance benefits.
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements.
  • Provide information for required governmental surveys as requested.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
  • Five (5) years of bookkeeping and accounting management experience is preferred.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance.
  • Must have a positive attitude and cooperate well.
  • Must be trustworthy and able to maintain confidential information.
  • Must be responsible and reliable.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication; both oral and written.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and planning.
  • Effective time management.
  • Requires a strong ability to multi-task and flexibility to learn and accept other duties.
  • Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
  • Strong math skills and confidence when working with numbers.
  • Excellent computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs.
  • Prior experience with SysPro or with Viewpoint Construction Software (Vista) is a plus.
  • A valid driver license and ability to occasionally travel to St. Louis, MO is required.
